This is an entry-level position. The employee will learn and perform a wide variety of tasks in a wastewater collection system – including the operation of Vactor and CCTV trucks, cleaning lift stations, and using a variety of hand and power tools supplied by the District. Must have the ability to develop a basic understanding of plumbing, electrical repairs, and the sewage collection system and be able to communicate courteously and accurately with the public.
Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position will assist in sewage collection system maintenance, general building upkeep, and grounds keeping and cleaning. Potential applicant will be self-motivated as this role will have frequent independent work, much of it being outdoors.
Maintenance hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule that you can help set. Applicant must be 18 years old, have a High School diploma or GED, and a valid Washington State driver’s license. Valley View Sewer District maintains a drug and smoke free work environment.
